Instructional Tri-fold

These are the instructional materials, created by Jillian, used in all of her beginner classes.

They are the perfect tool for teachers and students to utilize while teaching and learning Mah Jongg. The tri-fold is designed for the National Mah Jongg League card to fit on top of for easy referencing. Both the tri-fold and cards contain:

• A tile guide

• A breakdown of tile groupings and how/when you can use jokers and call for discards

• Instructions for building walls and the deal

• Walk-thru of the Charleston

• How to decode the card colors

• Calling/exposing tiles

• Steps for playing

Tri-Fold Dimensions:

Open: 25”x5.5”

Closed: 8.5”x5.5”

Printing recommendations: I had mine printed at Alphagraphics. I highly recommend them. If you are going to print at Staples, Office Depot, etc. I would ask them to score the paper so it folds cleanly.

Please note that this is not a comprehensive instruction book with rules for American Mah Jongg. This is a tool for teachers to give their students to reference while they’re teaching, or assist those who have taken a beginner class and want a cheat sheet while they’re practicing/playing in a social environment.
